Perrie Edwards doesn’t want a boyfriend.
The Little Mix singer had her heart crushed last year when her then-fiancé Zayn Malik dumped her via text following four years of dating, and she has now admitted the gut-wrenching experience has put her off finding love again.
Speaking to Notion magazine, she explained: "I don’t think a woman should ever feel the need for a man.
"I love doing my own thing – it just makes me feel independent. I always say I like my own company – to the point where that person would have to compete!"
Despite loving the single life, the 22-year-old beauty has been romantically linked to a number of handsome men – including model Leon King and ex-‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Joey Essex – since her split from the former One Direction singer but the flings seemed to fizzle out quickly.
Zayn, 23, on the other hand, has wasted no time jumping straight back into another serious relationship and is now dating 20-year-old model-of-the-moment Gigi Hadid.
But, despite his new love interest, it seems Perrie is still very much on his mind as he recently confessed he penned his new single ‘It’s You’ about the ‘Black Magic’ hitmaker.
He said at the time: "I just felt like I needed to put myself out there on that just because it was a form of therapy for me and it did help get me through some s**t."
