Bryan Ferry has divorced his wife.
The 68-year-old singer ended his two-year marriage with Amanda Sheppard, 31, yesterday (07.03.14) at a court hearing in London after District Judge Gibson granted the couple a decree nisi.
The pair, who tied the knot on the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2011, now have to wait for a decree absolute, which is usually issued six weeks later, before their marriage can be formally over.
Amanda reportedly filed for divorce from the former Roxy Music star following his continuous unreasonable behaviour, and also confirmed she was no longer living with him at their home in West Sussex.
A source told the Express newspaper: "Amanda hoped they could sort things out between themselves and keep it low-profile. But Bryan’s behaviour towards her means that she no longer thinks this is an option.
"He has acted like a child. She packed up her things and he made a point that she couldn’t take some basic items."
However, Bryan’s publicist has since released a statement claiming the former lovers remain on "good terms".
He said: "With great sadness, Amanda and Bryan have decided to go their separate ways.
"They remain on extremely good terms and wish each other only the best going forwards.
"They would each be extremely grateful if their privacy in regard to this matter could be respected."
Bryan was previously married to Lucy Helmore, whom he has four children with, and also famously dated former model Jerry Hall before she left him for Sir Mick Jagger.
