Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge will spend St Patrick’s Day with her children.
The 34-year-old royal – who has two-year-old Prince George and ten-month-old Princess Charlotte with her husband, the Duke of Cambridge – was expected to be attending an official engagement with the Irish Guards today (17.03.16).
A source told The Sun newspaper: "After attending the Commonwealth Service on Monday in London Kate was keen to get back to her children in Norfolk.
"Until she goes on tour in four weeks’ time, she’ll be spending all her time with the kids so don’t expect to see much public duties from her."
The traditional event – which sees shamrocks handed to the Irish Guards – takes place every March 17 and the honours are usually done by a female member of the royal family.
The Duchess has been giving out the shamrocks since 2012 when the role was passed onto her by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne.
For the 115 years, a female member of the royal family has completed the duty but breaking the tradition, Prince William will hand out the shamrocks at the event today.
