David Bowie will be remembered at the Glastonbury Festival in June.
The late music legend – who died in January at the age of 69 after a secret cancer battle – will have his legacy respected with a special screening of his entire 2000 headline slot at the renowned event, which is held at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England.
In an interview with Radio X, festival organiser Michael Eavis confirmed: "Yes, we’re doing a film of his set from the year 2000. It’s going to be shown on one of the screens when the stages are shut down. We’ll show the entire set."
The news comes hot off the heels of Lady Gaga’s astonishing performance in Bowie’s honour at the Grammy Awards on Monday (15.02.16), for which she performed a medley of nine of the music legends hits, including ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Let’s Dance’ – for which she was joined by guitarist Nile Rodgers who produced the track with Bowie.
The eccentric pop superstar arrived dressed like Bowie’s alter ego Ziggy Stardust and during her time on stage she used live CGI make-up created by Intel computer graphics to recreate the late legend’s different looks from his career on her own face.
A super-group comprised of U2’s Bono, Noel Gallagher and Damon Alban are rumoured to be taking to the stage at the BRIT Awards next Wednesday (24.02.16) to perform a tribute to the late icon.
