Prince William to present awards to FCO staff

Britain’s Prince William will present awards to Government staff at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) Diplomatic Academy today (16.02.16).

The 33-year-old royal will honour staff who have "shown leadership, creativity and innovation" while helping colleagues with their studies.

The Diplomatic Academy opened last year and allows staff to undertake further training and study.

A message on the Kensington Palace Twitter account said: "The Duke of Cambridge today marks the first year of @UKDipAcademy with a visit to the @foreignoffice for the first Diplomatic Academy Awards."

Along with handing out awards, William is also expected to give a speech to staff.

Meanwhile, when William is not undertaking royal duties, he is being kept busy with his role with the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Last week he was called to help a three-year-old boy struggling to breathe after he choked on nuts.

The youngster’s mother Donna Swyers said: "They are things he’s eaten in the past. Then he was indicating that he couldn’t breathe properly – he was pointing to his throat. Prince William was the pilot. There were two doctors onboard. They checked Luke out – they were concerned for him.

"Luke’s lips were swollen when they got to hospital. My mum said he must have had a reaction. We thought it must be something in the yoghurt now we think he must have an allergy."
