Kanye West says ‘Waves’ will be "just one of" the greatest albums ever.
Backtracking on previous claims that the record will be "the greatest album of all time", Kanye took to Twitter to praise his idols and reveal his hopes that the new release will honour them.
He tweeted: "Out of respect for Q-Tip, Puff, Hov, Lauren, Pharcyde, Mary, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, James, Pete Rock, Pac, Marvin….
"this new album is ONE of the greatest albums not the greatest just one of …
"So many musicians touch my life and made me who I am… I want to make something great to honor my idols… (sic)."
Meanwhile, Kanye’s sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian previously revealed he was finding it difficult to narrow down the track list as there were so many "genuinely terrific songs".
She said: "He has so many songs that we – I act like I’m recording them – that he can’t figure out what he wants to put on his album. And they’re all genuinely terrific songs."
"He is so passionate. He’s like, every bit the meaning of an artist."
The album is expected to be released on February 11.
