Guns N’ Roses throw shade at Steven Tyler for taking credit for their reunion

Guns N’ Roses have suggested they haven’t spoken to Steven Tyler for "numerous years".

The Aerosmith frontman appears to have upset the reunited group with his recent comments that he persuaded Axl Rose to rejoin his former bandmates, because the ‘Paradise City’ hitmakers have now taken a swipe at those who have spoken out and "taken credit" for their reunion, despite playing a "non-existent" role in their comeback.

Taking to their official Facebook page, the band wrote: "Guns N’ Roses would like to respectfully thank the many people taking credit for our upcoming shows and everything in between. "Especially those with whom we haven’t spoken to in numerous years who, through the power of media, have somehow served a pivotal even if non-existent role. We, and the fans thank you! #GnFnR (sic)"

In a radio chat on Howard’s SiriusXM show, Steven, 67, said he’d met up with Axl, 53, and told him the world needs Guns N’ Roses back.

He said: "I did meet Axl in a couple of clubs, a year ago, two years ago, three years ago, and I’d bump into him and I’d have that talk.

"I said, ‘You need to get the f**k back together again soon because we all miss you.’ Same thing someone said to me when [Aerosmith guitarist] Joe [Perry] and I were fighting."

The band – also featuring Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer and Chris Pitman – are gearing up for two comeback shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on April 8 and April 9, ahead of their headline slot at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival the same month.
