Beyoncé confirmed for Super Bowl Halftime performance

Beyoncé will perform at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The singer previously headlined the show in 2013, and her involvement in this year’s lineup has been rumoured for months.

But now the show’s sponsor Pepsi has confirmed the exciting news to the Associated Press.

Instead of headlining, however, Beyoncé will be joining Coldplay as their musical guest when they perform at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 7.

The 34-year-old singer recently teamed up with Coldplay on their new album ‘A Head Full of Dreams’.

Bruno Mars will also be performing during the Halftime show.

Beyoncé wowed fans with her 2013 performance in New Orleans, where she had something of a Destiny’s Child reunion when former bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined her on stage.

Last year saw Katy Perry delight fans during the break, and made history with the most-watched Halftime show in history with 118 million viewers tune in.

But she had said before the performance that she was nervous about living up to Beyoncé’s now legendary 2013 performance.

She said at the time: "Nobody’s going to live up to Beyonce, stop putting me on that altar. How dare you.

"I really am going to play on my strengths, which I believe for me is a combination of humour and sass and colour and incredible joy, and hopefully everybody will be singing along to all these songs because they will be quite familiar."
