Kodaline’s TV obsession

Kodaline are obsessed with ‘Grand Designs’.

The four-piece folk rock band have revealed they stay sane on the road by watching the architectural show, presented by Kevin McCloud, and watch it at every available opportunity.

Bassist Jason Boland exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "We love ‘Grand Designs’. ‘Grand Designs’ is great, there’s always time for that. There’s never a moment in the day where we wouldn’t watch ‘Grand Designs’.

"There are like 13 seasons of it so there’s always one to watch."

However, the other members of the group, Mark Prendergast, Steve Garrigan and Vinny May, confessed they had never been too interested in the show until they began touring with Jason and discovered how much he is a fan of the programme.

Steve said: "I had never watched ‘Grand Designs’ until Jay got me into it and then I was hooked on it.

"Jay’s a big TV buff, so TV shows, movies, everything, he’s our go-to guy."

And Jason confessed he is such a fan of the show, he dreams of spending his earnings from the band on making his own impressive home and featuring on the show.

He gushed: "I think everyone wants to build a ‘Grand Designs’. That would be amazing. That’s the dream."
