Frances Quinn has ‘special bond’ with Bake Off stars

‘The Great British Bake Off’ winner Frances Quinn has a "special bond" with her fellow contestants.

Although the fourth series of the hit BBC Two competition wrapped filming last summer, Frances says she is still in touch with fellow baking enthusiasts including Kimberley Wilson and Ruby Tandoh.

She said: "We get together on Sunday afternoons for Bakechat – a group discussion on Twitter. We have a private Facebook group … we all share a special bond."

Frances recently united for the first time with past ‘Bake Off’ winners Edd Kimber, Jo Wheatley and John Whaite to take part in a photoshoot and she says the show’s previous victors were very supportive of her.

The baking expert added: "They sent me lovely messages on the night the final was screened. When we met afterwards, they gave me lots of great advice – particularly not to rush into things."

All of the past winners have enjoyed success such as their own cookery books since leaving the show and as the first winner, Ed has been eager to dispense advice to his successors.

He told BBC Good Food magazine: "When I won, I had to learn a lot fast. I had no one to ask about what I should do, what opportunities to pursue. It was a confusing time and I definitely made mistakes."
