‘Spectre’ star Andrew Scott has been cast alongside Rachel Weisz in Holocaust drama ‘Denial’.
According to Variety, the 39-year-old BAFTA-winning actor – who played C in the latest Bond film opposite Rachel’s real-life husband Daniel Craig, who portrays 007 – will star in the movie as lawyer Antony Julius.
The film is based on Deborah E. Lipstadt’s tome ‘History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier’, which retells her legal war with David Irving, who accused Lipstadt of libel for claiming he was a Holocaust Denier in her 1993 book, ‘Denying the Holocaust: The Growing Assault on Truth & Memory’.
The all-star line-up sees Weisz takes on the lead role as Lipstadt with ‘The Lone Ranger’ star Tom Wilkinson reportedly playing Irving and ‘The King’s Speech’ actor Timothy Spall has also has a part.
Weisz, 45, stepped up for the role, which was originally meant to be for Hilary Swank.
Lipstadt said Swank left because of scheduling issues, but is "thrilled" Weisz has taken on the role.
She told The Times of Israel: "I am very happy with the choice of Rachel, in fact I’m thrilled."
The film is being helmed by ‘The Bodyguard’ director Mick Jackson and produced by Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff of Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment.
Filming for the flick – adapted by screenwriter David Hare – started in London this week.
