Motorhead’s Lemmy: Stop asking when I’ll die

Motorhead’s Lemmy is "sick of the f****ing" question "are you going to die?".

The rocker – full name Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister – will turn 70 on Christmas Eve (24.12.15) and has insisted death isn’t knocking at his door, and blasted fans who constantly quiz him over his ill health, saying he’s "doing alright".

Hard-living Lemmy has suffered from various medical issues in recent years, being fitted with a pacemaker in 2013 and suffering a haematoma in 2014. He has had to cut back on his much-loved cigarettes and alcohol on medical advice.

The ‘Ace of Spades’ hitmaker said: "I’m sick of the f***ing, ‘Are you going to die?’ line of questioning. It’s getting really old, that question. I’m alright. I’m going out there and doing my best. I have good days and bad days, but mostly I’ve been doing alright. The last tour of the States was very good."

Lemmy did admit his body is going "pear-shaped" from old age.

Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, the frontman added: "It’s when you get to 60 when everything starts to go pear-shaped. Everyone thinks that becoming an older guy is easy, but you never consider it fully. It comes as quite a shock. But the thing is, I don’t want to give in to it."

The comments come soon after the band – which also includes guitarist Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee – had to cancel two shows in Germany after Phil was hospitalized last month.

Taking to their official Twitter account to update fans, they said: "Our brother, Phil Campbell suddenly required hospital. He will be better soon. There is no choice other than to cancel our show in Berlin".

In September while on the road in the US, the metallers had to stop one concert after three songs and cancel another as Lemmy was suffering from altitude sickness.
