Kylie and Dannii Minogue duet on TV for first time in almost 30 years

Kylie and Dannii Minogue duetted on TV for the first time in nearly 30 years on ‘The X Factor’ in Australia at the weekend.

The ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker and her younger sister – who is also a judge on the talent show – last performed together on television in 1986 when they sang ‘Sisters Doing It For Themselves’ on the show ‘Young Talent Time’.

The siblings dazzled on stage as they belted out their festive single ‘100 Degrees’ and Kylie, 47 and Dannii, 44, and even held hands at one point in front of parents Ronald and Carol who were in the live audience.

Dancers with Christmas bobble headpieces backed them and confetti cannons fired gold glitter on stage, and Kylie sweetly shouted out, "I love you Dannii," as the song finished.

Afterwards, Kylie said: "We have been very excited and a bit nervous because it was a very special moment for us. It was amazing, thanks for the opportunity. The thing I love about Christmas is family and our mum and dad are in the audience tonight."

The pair have collaborated only once in the past decade in 2008 to cover ABBA’s ‘The Winner Takes It All’ for a TV comedy drama.

The sisters’ last joint live performance came in 2006 when Dannii replaced Robbie Williams for his vocal parts on single ‘Kids’ on star at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, in 2006.

Dannii is very pleased with ‘100 Degrees’ – which features on the festive album ‘Kylie Christmas’ – describing it as the perfect Christmas party song.

She said: "There’s not enough party Christmas songs. Everyone has Christmas parties, but what music do you put on? This song is perfect for dancing to."

Other acts who performed in on ‘The X Factor’ final on Channel 7 included Jason Derulo and Rudimental.
