Jason Derulo launching plane company

Jason Derulo is launching an aeroplane business.

The ‘Want To Want Me’ hitmaker was kicked off a flight in August after a confrontation between his security staff and the plane’s crew and was left so disappointed by the experience he wants "the average person" to be able to hire private jets so they don’t face similar problems.

He explained to The Sun newspaper: "We went to the gate and there were some ruckuses starting. My security team was taking me there and the ticket clerk was like, ‘Hey, you can’t be here.’

"About five minutes later they had the police come to escort us off the plane. It was rough.

"So I’m starting a company that charters jets affordable to the average person."

The 26-year-old singer – who is the first act to be announced for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Coca-Cola at The O2 in London on December 5 – blamed the firm for being unaccommodating following the incident but Southwest Airlines insisted they had received complaints about his behaviour.

They said at the time: "According to our employees, the group refused to follow boarding procedures. Initial reports indicate that several customers complained about the group’s behaviour. Our crew, responsible for the safety and comfort of all customers on board, attempted to diffuse the situation; ultimately, local authorities were called and the decision was made to deny boarding to the group. The group sought alternate transportation and their tickets were refunded."
