Dame Julie Walters "dreads" being offered a good movie role.
The 65-year-old star – who is currently busy filming the second series of ‘Indian Summers’ in Malaysia – only takes on parts she really wants to do, but doesn’t want to spend all her time working.
She told Woman magazine: "I work a lot less than I used to. In fact, I dread something coming up that I can’t say no to.
"I haven’t got that desire to be working all the time.
"I am working, but that’s because things have come in that I’ve wanted to do.
"There was something wonderful I could have done but I would have had to go to New York a month after I got back from Malaysia. It would have been wonderful but I’ve got to have my fill of home too."
And the ‘Harry Potter’ star is also keen to return to writing, though she doesn’t want to pen a script.
She said: "Writing is something I enjoy, so I’d maybe like to do more of that in the future. It wouldn’t be a script though.
"Victoria Wood and I keep in touch, and we’ve talked about stuff and loved working together, but I don’t know if we’d do anything else together."
