Ozzy Osbourne: It’s the end of Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath will not make any more studio albums.

Frontman Ozzy Osbourne has scrapped plans to follow up 2013’s number one LP ’13’ and will supposedly call an "end" to Sabbath on 21 September 2016, when they play their final concert in Phoenix.

Ozzy, 66, told The Pulse of Radio: "We were gonna do one [album] before the tour, but I’m 67 in December, it would take three or four years to write and record an album. And so we decided just to do a farewell tour. If we did an album and it went to No. 2, people would go, ‘It’s over.’ There’s only one more place you can go after No. 1 and that’s No. 2, you know."

However, Ozzy insists just because Black Sabbath are getting ready to put a full stop on their legendary career it doesn’t mean he won’t ever play live again with bandmates Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi.

The ‘Paranoid’ hitmaker told the New Orleans Times-Picayune: "It’s the end of Sabbath, believe me.

"In December, I’ll be f***ing 67 and I think it’s time to call it the end of the day. I’m not saying I won’t get on stage with Geezer or Tony (Iommi) or any of them some time, but officially we’re going to be done."

Ozzy also said he’s not motivated to tour just to make money and when he steps back from touring he will instead focus on his solo projects, such as taking his festival OZZFest to Japan.

He added: "I don’t want it to dwindle and dwindle and play just for the sake of making another f***ing sack full of cash. So it’s time, and then I’ll go back to doing my own thing."
