Krept and Konan lead MOBO Award nominations


Krept & Konan lead the nominations at the 20th MOBO Awards.

The ‘Freak of the Week’ hitmakers received four nods in categories including Best Album for ‘The Long Way Home’, Best Male, Best Hip Hop and Best Song as the nominations were announced this morning (30.09.15)

The grime duo – Casyo ‘Krept’ Johnson and Karl ‘Konan’ Wilson – will take to the stage at the annual awards ceremony later this year for a special performance.

And Krept & Konan weren’t the only artists from the worlds of grime and hip hop to be recognised as the genre dominated the nominations with a whopping 27 nods in categories including Best Song, Best Male Act, Best Video and Newcomer.

Elsewhere FKA Twigs has been nominated in the Best Female and Best Video categories, with her videos for ‘Pendulum’ and ‘Glass & Patron’ both in with a chance of winning the award.

Lianne La Havas will challenge Krept & Konan for the Best Album gong with her hit record ‘Blood’ while ‘Wearing My Rolex’ hitmaker Wiley was announced as the first recipient of the inaugural MOBO Paving The Way award.

The 2015 MOBO Awards are set to take place on Wednesday November 4 at Leeds’ First Direct Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV2 and later repeated in full on ITV.
