Adele in talks for TV special

Adele is in talks for an hour-long TV special to launch her new album.

The ‘Skyfall’ hitmaker’s eagerly awaited third LP is due out in November and rather than carry out endless interviews to promote her return to music, Adele wants a show dedicated to her.

According to The Sun newspaper, the 27-year-old superstar has already had preliminary discussions with the BBC about making a programme to air at the same time her album is released.

A source said: "Adele is simply too big just to be part of a green room of guests on a chat show. She deserves her own dedicated programme where the spotlight will only be on her. It’s not like she desperately needs the publicity but you can’t turn your nose up at that level of exposure."

The BBC has a long history of creating special programming with artists.

Way back in 1997 Oasis made the documentary ‘Right Here, Right Now’ about the recording and release of their third album ‘Be Here Now’, while more recently in 2013 the corporation dedicated a host of programming to Take That star Gary Barlow ahead of the release of his solo album ‘Since I Saw You Last’.

The Grammy-awarding-winning artist took a break from the music business following the birth of her son Angelo – her child with long-term partner Simon Konecki – was born on 19 October 2012.

Her last album, 2011 release ’21’, has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
