Boy George has demanded BBC chefs meet his dietary requirements after being made a coach on ‘The Voice’.
The 54-year-old star and Paloma Faith were announced as the new judges of the singing competition last week and it’s now been reported that he’s provided bosses with a list of foods he doesn’t want to be delivered to his dressing room.
A source shared: "George avoids lemons, butternut squash, onions and cauliflower.
"But if he wants a certain dish, which would usually include one of these ingredients, the BBC chefs will be happy to prepare him something separately."
The ‘Karma Chameleon’ hitmaker is "incredibly serious" about his diet as indulging in the wrong foods in the past caused him to put on weight.
The insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "George follows the Metabolic Plan diet. It teaches you to understand the way that your body processes certain foods, like carbohydrates. They can lead to the over-production of insulin, which reduces blood sugar levels. Low blood sugar can lead to mood swings and rapid changes in energy levels.
"George had found that eating twice a day is perfect because it helps his body process food in a way that keeps him functioning at his best.
"He is incredibly serious about taking care of himself.
"In the past, binges on food and substance abuse used to be the devil on his shoulder. Not any more."
The Culture Club star wants to make sure he is on his "best form" and is really looking forward to joining the panel, which also includes returning coaches will.i.am and Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson.
The source added: "He’s so excited about joining the coaching team on ‘The Voice’ he wants to be on his best form ever."
