Emmerdale’s Val Pollard becomes latest helicopter crash victim

‘Emmerdale’s helicopter crash has claimed another victim.

Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick) was stabbed by a falling mirror after heroically saving her sister Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) from the same fate on the ITV soap.

And she wasn’t the only person to die as residents dealt with the fallout from Pete Barton and Debbie Dingle’s drama-fuelled wedding, during which a helicopter crashed into the village.

Ross Barton (Michael Parr) was killed by his brother Pete (Anthony Quinlan) after the latter found out he had been having an affair with his new wife Debbie (Charley Webb).

During a brawl, Ross smashed Pete’s head against a step before disposing of his body in the woods.

Val and Pete follow Ruby Haswell – played by Alicia Eyo – who was the first to die after the tragic helicopter crash.

Speaking previously about her exit after 11 years, Charlie said she wanted to start a new chapter in her life but remained tight-lipped about exactly how she would bow out.

She said: "I’m not at liberty to say, and luckily I haven’t read the scripts because I thought if I started then I knew I’d start talking about it.

"While I’ve got a spring in me step, I thought, let’s have another chance at another chapter at my life. But really you just know when it’s time to go."
