Mel B plots Spice Girls reunion

Mel B intends to "gather the troops" for a Spice Girls reunion.

The 40-year-old singer is determined she and her former bandmates – Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Mel C – will do something to mark the fact next year sees them celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut single ‘Wannabe’, even if the rest of the group are not convinced.

She said: "When you say it’s our 20th anniversary coming up, it does make you think, ‘Oh, my gosh, it really has been that long.’

"Hopefully, we’ll gather the troops around, and we’ll get to do something to celebrate it next year. It’s in my plan, I don’t know about anybody else’s."

The ‘Holler’ singer has "great memories" of her time in the band and is particularly pleased they are all still good friends and get along well.

She added during an interview on ‘The Today Show’: "I’ve got so many great memories. I got to tour the world with four of my best friends – even today we still all support each other. We like each other, and that’s the most important part."

Mel recently insisted she and her bandmates are still just like their old Spice Girl personas, and she will "always" be Scary Spice.

She said: "We’re all kind of exactly the same, we’ve just like aged a little more gracefully. When I jump out of the shower, my hair’s lovely and curly, and I like that. You can’t stop you from being you, and I’m Scary Spice, always, and I don’t mind that!"
