Spain’s queen Letizia’s grandfather dies‏


Spanish queen Letizia Ortiz’s grandfather, Francisco Rocasolano has died.

The 98-year-old passed away in Salamanca, Spain, last night (27.07.15) where he was hospitalised last Saturday (25.07.15) due to coronary problems, confirmed Tuesday (28.07.15) to Spanish news agency Efe.

Francisco Rocasolano is believed to have felt unwell on Saturday (25.07.15) while he rested in a property in Puerto de Béjar (Salamanca) and was transferred to the hospital Clinico de Salamanca, where he passed away.

According to the same sources, the transfer of the deceased to Madrid was organised on the same evening, but after his health got noticeably worse, the doctors made the decision to keep him in the hospital, where he died a while later, before midnight.

Queen Letizia’s maternal grandfather went through a medical check up on Sunday (26.07.15) at the Clinico de Salamanca, the same day the Spanish queen’s mother, Paloma Rocasolano, arrived at the hospital to be with her father, in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital Clinico Universitario.

Yesterday, queen Letizia canceled her arrangements to assist the National Fashion Awards ceremony, which she was going to preside this morning (28.07.15) at the Museo Del Traje in Madrid, to be with her family.
