Comic book writer Grant Morrison thinks Zack Snyder’s version of Wonder Woman betrays the character’s roots.
Grant, 55, is currently writing his graphic novel ‘Wonder Woman: Earth One’ and said he didn’t want to do the "warrior woman thing" with the character, like the Snyder-directed ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ movie appears set to do.
He told Nerdist: "I can understand why they’re doing it, I get all that, but that’s not what [Wonder Woman creator] William Marston wanted, that’s not what he wanted at all! …
"You see the latest shots of Gal Gadot in the costume, and it’s all sword and shield and her snarling at the camera. Marston’s Diana was a doctor, a healer, a scientist.
"So I went back to those roots and just built it up again."
Meanwhile, Gal recently rubbished claims she’s not suited to the role of Wonder Woman because she doesn’t have a large enough bust to play the superhero.
However, Gal insisted she’s not majorly fussed by the criticism, saying she’s learned to laugh it off.
She said: "Well, they said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small. I’m really lucky nothing in my life was instantaneous.
"When I was younger I would take criticism really hard. But now it mostly amuses me. The true Amazons had one boob so it wouldn’t bother them in their archery. So it’s not going to be like I’m a real Amazon. We always try to make everyone happy but we can’t."
