Lulu reminisces at Cornbury Festival

Lulu reminisced about her marriage to Maurice Gibb as she took to the stage at Cornbury Festival.

The ‘Shout’ hitmaker – who was married to the Bee Gees star for four years – told the crowd at the Oxfordshire festival on Saturday (11.07.15) that she believed the couple were "invincible" in the early days of their relationship.

She said: "I thought we were invincible but it appeared we were not.

"I remember we’d been working with famous pop stars and we were travelling all over the world and all the people we met on that journey. And this song was a huge hit."

After performing a beautiful rendition of ‘Got To Get A Message To Her’ by the Bee Gees, the 66-year-old singer excited the crowd with a number of fan favourites including ‘Shout’, ‘To Sir With Love’ and ‘Relight My Fire’ in a fantastic and energetic set.

Other notable performers included crooner Sir Tom Jones, who brought crowds to the main stage in droves. And despite the typical British rainy weather, it did not dampen spirits as revellers partied to the 75-year-old star’s biggest hits including ‘Sex Bomb’, ‘It’s Not Unusual’ and ‘Mama Told Me Not To Come’. Earlier that evening, boy band Blue warmed up the crowd with a number of their biggest hits, despite being an hour and a half late on stage.

On the Sunday afternoon (12.07.15), along with The Trevor Horn Band, Seal provided entertainment to the rowdiest crowd of the festival and when he jumped off the stage to interact with fans by the barrier, his supporters flocked to the front for a chance to come face to face with their idol.
