Britain’s Prince Charles shared some words of advice with the Australian cricket team ahead of the start of the Ashes tomorrow (08.07.15).
The 66-year-old prince – who’s also met with members of the England team ahead of the Test Match at Cardiff’s Swalec Stadium – chatted with the Australians as they continued their preparations for the much-anticipated cricket series.
Spin bowler Nathan Lyon revealed the prince was particularly intrigued by fast bowler Mitchell Johnson, saying: "It was great for him to come out and meet our guys and pass on a few words. He asked a lot about Mitch Johnson and how fast he is."
During his visit to the stadium, Prince Charles was presented with an Australian Test Match jersey by team manager Gavin Dovey.
Meanwhile, England’s own fast bowling hero James Anderson revealed how much he enjoyed meeting the prince ahead of his side’s showdown with the Australians.
He said: "He’s very much lending us his support and offering encouragement and it was lovely to meet him. He was just asking us about the game and our preparations and wishing us good luck."
