Britain’s Princess Charlotte is the seventh royal baby to be christened in the Honiton lace and white satin gown.
The gown was first used at the christening of James, Viscount Severn in 2008, and was used once more yesterday (05.07.15), at the high-profile christening of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s second child, who was born in the first week of May.
The eye-catching outfit is actually a replica of the intricate lace and satin christening gown that was made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.
Princess Charlotte was baptised at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in front of family and friends, including Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.
Carole and Michael Middleton – the parents of the Duchess of Cambridge – were also in attendance, as well as Prince William and Catherine’s 23-month-old son Prince George.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Catherine’s brother and sister, James and Pippa Middleton, were at the service, while well wishers gathered near the entrance of the church, offering their congratulations to the Duke and the Duchess.
