Flowers at Princess Charlotte’s christening to be donated to EACH

Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge is going to donate bouquets from well-wishers at Princess Charlotte’s christening to East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

Princess Charlotte – who is two-months-old today (03.07.15) is set to be christened on Sunday (05.07.15) at St Mary Magdalene Church on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate, and Kate and her husband the Duke of Cambridge have invited locals to come to the area outside to show their support. Any flowers left will be gathered up and given to EACH – which Kate is a royal patron of – and re-distributed to the charity’s hospices for families and staff to enjoy.

Graham Butland, EACH Chief Executive, said in a statement, according to the Mail Online: "We are very honored the flowers . . . are being donated to EACH. Her Royal Highness has shown great dedication to the role of Royal Patron, raising awareness and understanding of our services and we’re incredibly grateful for all the support the charity has received."

The 33-year-old Duchess became royal patron of the small hospice charity when she announced the first set of causes she was officially going to support in January 2012, and the charity has said she has helped raise awareness not just of EACH but of the children’s hospice movement as a whole.
