Michelle Keegan "always thought" she’d have children by now.
The 27-year-old actress – who married reality star-turned-presenter Mark Wright last month – has confessed she expected to start a family when she was in her early twenties.
She said: "I always thought I was going to be a really young mum.
"I always had it in my head that I was going to have a baby at 22 or 23. Obviously that didn’t happen!"
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star added she is keen to have kids with her new husband at some point in the future but insists they have no plans to start a family just yet because they want to enjoy married life alone for a while.
She told Star magazine: "Obviously we’d love to have kids some day.
"I’ve always wanted to be a mum, but I want to enjoy being married first and having that life with Mark.
"There’s no rush. I said to Mark, ‘Let’s not plan anything.’
"Once you have kids, they are there for life, there’s no going back.
"When you have a child everything changes and at the moment I’m really lucky with my life and don’t want anything to change just yet."
