Nicole Scherzinger to join The Voice?

Nicole Scherzinger may be replacing Rita Ora as a coach on ‘The Voice UK’.

The 37-year-old former ‘X Factor’ judge is a "front runner" for the job, so could be swapping TV talent shows with the 24-year-old ‘Poison’ singer. The ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ singer is flying into the UK this week for talks with BBC chiefs, after ‘The Voice UK’ judge Will.i.am has sung her praises.

A BBC source said: "Nicole is meeting with some of the top producers on The Voice this week to discuss the prospect of her replacing Rita.

"Will.i.am, who is our most popular coach, is very close friends with Nicole and has been lobbying hard for her to join the panel. Andrew Lloyd Webber has also sung her praises because of her talent and passion for mentoring young acts.

"We’re not planning to make a formal decision until the end of the summer but this will very much make Nicole a front runner."

The BBC insider has also insisted that the fact that Nicole has been on ‘The X Factor’ previously isn’t an issue.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the source added: "Nicole is very experienced and popular.

"Her team believe she’s distanced herself from X Factor enough while she’s concentrated on her solo music career to be able to join another show. She definitely wants to do it."
