Prince George attends Trooping the Colour

Britain’s Prince George attended Trooping the Colour for the first time on Saturday (13.06.15).

The 22-month-old prince waved to the crowds as he joined his parents Duchess Catherine and Prince William, grandfather Prince Charles, great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth and other family members on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the annual parade, which is held to celebrate the monarch’s official birthday.

George – who excitedly pointed at planes as they approached the palace during the flypast – wore a blue shirt with white frills and matching shorts that appeared identical to one worn by both William and Harry in their first balcony appearances, in 1984 and 1985 respectively.

Earlier in the day, George had been spotted with his nanny Maria Borrallo and Lady Diana Farnham, the queen’s lady-in-waiting as they watched the royal procession leave Buckingham Palace for Horse Guards Parade, and the little prince seemed particularly excited to see his mother in a carriage with Harry and Charles’ wife, Duchess Camilla.

Another carriage contained William’s uncle, Prince Andrew, and his daughters Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, while Charles, William and Princess Anne took part on horseback in their military roles as colonels-in-chief of various regiments.

And George’s busy weekend was not complete as yesterday (14.06.15), as he was seen enjoying a day out at the Gloucestershire Festival of Polo with his mother.

The casually-dressed duchess – who gave birth to daughter Princess Charlotte six weeks ago – was seen chasing after the prince as he climbed a grass mound and played with other children.

George later sat on his mother’s lap as she sank to the ground to watch William and Harry play in a charity game.
