Rose Byrne: Hollywood is forgetful and unforgiving

Rose Byrne thinks the movie industry is "forgetful and unforgiving".

The 35-year-old actress – who stars in the Paul Feig-directed comedy ‘Bridesmaids’ and has reunited with the filmmaker for new movie ‘Spy’ – admitted that although her career has exploded over the last four years, she’s aware that it remains a fickle industry.

She explained: "It helps you see how far you’ve come: from living on unemployment in LA in my early 20s until now. And it’s a great way to do that to yourself and help you to be grateful to be working.

"It’s really important. But for my life, every day is still every day. It accumulates slowly in that sense. It’s just you looking at yourself in the mirror, if you know what I mean? So it’s a strange thing to quantify.

"This business is such a forgetful and unforgiving one so I’m always a true skeptic about any grandiose statements about my career."

Despite making her name in comedic roles, Rose revealed her desire to move into other genres of cinema.

She told Details.com: "Diversity is key. Any time I can do something different from the last thing and keep exploring and challenging yourself, it’s totally at the top of my list."
