Mel B tipper for Strictly Come Dancign

Mel B is being tipped to appear on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The former ‘X Factor’ judge – who was sacked from the ITV singing competition by boss Simon Cowell after just one series earlier this year – is now being lined up to take part in the next series of the BBC celebrity dance contest.

The bookmakers William Hill have halved the price of the former Spice Girls star appearing on ‘Strictly’ from 10/1 to 5/1 as speculation mounts that she’s signed up for the show.

However, it’s been suggested viewers would be less than impressed with Mel’s involvement given she appeared on the US equivalent, ‘Dancing with the Stars’, in 2007.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: "We think it would be a little unfair on the other contestants, as Mel has already appeared on the American version but it would certainly annoy Simon Cowell."

Meanwhile, Scottish weather presenter Carol Kirkwood "looks all but certain" to take part with odds of 1/2 while former ‘Richard & Judy’ star Richard Madeley is also in the running at 6/4.

Dermot O’Leary – who has also left the ‘X Factor’ after stepping down as host – is close behind Mel at 6/1 while former BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Chris Evans could also be set to compete for the glitterball trophy with odds of 9/1.

This comes after UKIP leader Nigel Farage was tipped to appear on the show after he resigned from the political party last month.

However, he has since returned to his role meaning he is unlikely to take part.
