Royals turned into life-size balloon models

Members of Britain’s royal family have been turned into life-size balloon models.

Joanne Anderson spent 16 hours blowing up the balloons with helium and tying them together to create life-like versions of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as their children, 22-month-old Prince George and three-week-old Princess Charlotte.

The 42-year-old artist said: "I had the idea of creating Will and Kate and the royal baby when she was pregnant and of course we couldn’t forget little George.

"I think they’re a really nice memento. People do paintings and make china but I don’t think anyone’s ever created them out of balloons."

Joanne said she was determined to ensure that her designs matched the personalities of each of the royals.

She explained to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I wanted Kate to look bright and warm, just like her personality.

"William and George looked so iconic in the outfits they wore when they went to visit baby Charlotte and so I knew straight away what I would dress them in."

Joanne became a balloon artist four years ago, after getting her inspiration from her daughter D’arcy’s birthday party.

She said: "I started out with a balloon dog and then I bought books and learned new tips online as to how to make the sculptures bigger and better."
