Paula Lane has signed a new one year contract for ‘Coronation Street’.
The 29-year-old actress recently returned to filming as drug addict mum-of-two Kylie Platt following the birth of her son Arthur on New Year’s Eve and she’s now revealed ITV bosses have offered her a new contract.
She said: "I’ve just signed a new 12-month contract, so it’s going to be quite a big year.
"I’m going to have to get my ‘actress’ head on and keep my two roles very separate from work and home."
Kylie will return to screens next month as she tries to stop her ex-boyfriend Callum Logan (Sean Ward) from winning custody of his biological son Max, who is currently in the care of her estranged husband David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), with whom she has daughter Lily.
Paula told OK! magazine: "I’ve just read some scripts which had me gasping in shock. I won’t say too much but there’s a game to be played and it’s very exciting. Callum’s weak spot is Kylie and what’s to come is very well-played."
News of Paula’s new contract comes after stars of the soap including Alison King (Carla Connor), Craig Charles (Lloyd Mullaney) and Hayley Tamaddon (Andrea Beckett) announced their departures.
