Princess Charlotte Tea goes on sale

Taylors of Harrogate have released a special edition tea in honour of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

The company behind the popular Yorkshire Tea brand has created 10 boxes of the special brew, called Charlotte’s Tea, in tribute to the latest edition to the British Royal family who was welcomed into the world by her parents the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Saturday (02.05.15).

One box of the limited edition bags has already been sent straight to the royal family, while fans can try and get their hands on one of the other nine by visiting the Yorkshire Tea Facebook page.

The company will also be releasing their boxes of Alice and Victoria teas which they had created in case Princess Charlotte’s parents had opted for a different name.

They had even produced an Arthur Tea incase the royal baby had turned out to a boy, reports Metro.co.uk.

Yorkshire Tea’s brand manager, Tom Blair said: "Yorkshire Tea has been awarded the Royal Coat of Arms, the prestigious stamp of quality of excellence, so we felt it was only our duty to send Princess Charlotte a one off pack dedicated to her."

The princess’ full name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was revealed on Monday, two days after the baby girl was delivered at 8.34am BST.

The statement from Kensington Palace read: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.

"The baby will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge."

Charlotte had been the bookmakers’ favourite for the name of the young royal – who is fourth in line for the throne after her grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William, and older brother, 21-month-old Prince George – while the names Elizabeth and Diana have been passed down from her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and her late grandmother Princess Diana, who was killed in a car accident in 1997.
