Britain’s Prince Charles has arrived in Turkey to commemorate the Gallipoli campaign.
The 66-year-old royal jetted to the country’s capital city Istanbul yesterday (23.04.15) to kick off his three day tour marking the 100th anniversary of the World War One landings.
Following his arrival the Prince went straight to a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan where he enjoyed a banquet in honour of the Gallipoli Campaign at the Istanbul Congress Centre, reports PEOPLE.
Today (24.04.15), Charles is expected to be joined by his son Prince Harry, who is set to attend the Helles memorial along with his father at the Commonwealth and Ireland Service.
The royals’ schedule for saturday (25.04.15) also includes meetings with the Prime Minister of New Zealand and the Prime Minister of Australia.
Meanwhile, Charles’ granddaughter-in-law and Harry’s sister-in-law Duchess Catherine is set to give birth to her second child with her husband Prince William any day now.
Both royals are set to be out of the country for the arrival if the baby is born on its reported due date, which is tomorrow, Saturday April 25.
