Britain’s Prince Harry is to visit Stewart Island and other locations on his tour of New Zealand next month.
The 30-year-old royal – who announced earlier this year that he is to leave the British Army in June – is to visit Stewart Island, Christchurch, Wellington, Linton, Whanganui and Auckland when he arrives in the country next month.
Prime Minister John Key revealed further details of the prince’s upcoming visit today (13.04.15), saying: "An interesting programme is being planned for Prince Harry to try and meet a wide range of New Zealanders in different communities."
The 53-year-old politician added that he’s confident Prince Harry will have a "fantastic time" and hopes many New Zealanders will enjoy the opportunity to meet him.
Meanwhile, the flame-haired royal recently revealed he "would love" to live in a remote village after visiting the Aboriginal Australian community of Wuggubun earlier this month as part of his month-long deployment with the Australian defence force.
Community member Barry Trust said Harry "just rocked up" but was a "real delightful chap, very good to talk to".
He added: "We’ve invited him back again sometime.
"He’d love to – he said he’d love to live out this way, to get away from all the media."
