Princes Charles and Harry for Anzac readings

Britain’s Princes Charles and Harry will give Anzac readings in Gallipoli.

The father and son pair will visit Turkey from April 23 to April 25 to commemorate the centenary of the brutal Gallipoli Campaign, with Charles giving a reading at the centenary Anzac dawn service.

Prince Harry will take a break from his month-long mission in Australia to visit Gallipoli, where he will speak at the Australian Anzac Day service at Lone Pine memorial.

Clarence House confirmed both royals will attend a joint Australia and New Zealand dawn service on Anzac Day (25.04.15) which will be held at North Beach.

In a short statement, they announced: "The Prince of Wales will give a reading and lay a wreath.

"Prince Harry will attend."

Before visiting Gallipoli on April 24, the pair will also visit the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Other official engagements during the trip will include meeting Australian war widows and visiting Chunuk Bair for the New Zealand commemorative service.

Meanwhile, Charles’ eldest son Prince William will remain in England, but is set to join his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph in London, as well as a service at Westminster Abbey on Anzac Day.

The Duke of Edinburgh will also be involved in the commemorations, attending a separate wreath-laying service at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral.
