Boy George claims he heard people doing drugs at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday (19.02.14).
The 52-year-old singer – who has suffered with heroin addiction in the past – has implied the ceremony, held at London’s O2 Arena, was a cocaine-fuelled event as he insists there was a "chorus of snorting" from the toilets during the commercial breaks.
Taking to his Twitter account yesterday afternoon (20.02.14), he wrote: "As I took a leak at The Brit’s I could hear a chorus of snorting! We have always called the Ad breaks ‘the coke run’. It’s still the case! (sic)".
Meanwhile, the Culture Club star caused a stir when he arrived at the glamorous event on Wednesday sporting a bloody bruise across his left eye, which looked like he had been involved in a punch-up.
However, George – whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd – admitted on the red carpet that it was actually make-up and he opted for the bizarre look as he is a "self-confessed fashion victim".
The eye make-up was branded "inappropriate" by critics, but George has since defended his theatrical taste.
He wrote: "Tasteless? Yet worth a whole lot of comment! ?? (sic)".
