Jeremy Clarkson ‘to be sacked by the BBC’

Jeremy Clarkson will reportedly be sacked by the BBC today (25.03.15).

The controversial ‘Top Gear’ presenter has been under investigation by the corporation after it was alleged he was involved in an altercation with producer Oisin Tymon, and according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, is set to have his dismissal confirmed by Lord Hall, the Director General of the BBC.

The 54-year-old presenter will be thanked for his work on the motoring show, but will be informed that his behaviour cannot be tolerated.

The corporation intends to continue broadcasting ‘Top Gear’ on BBC2 and sources have told the newspaper that bosses are keen to see Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Chris Evans assume responsibility for presenting the programme.

The 48-year-old entertainer is a self-confessed motoring enthusiast and boasts one of the most prestigious car collections in Britain, which includes a 1963 Ferrari 250GTO.

Although he has previously distanced himself from the job, BBC bosses are keen to persuade him to accept the role.

Meanwhile, the future of Clarkson’s co presenters James May and Richard Hammond remain unclear.

Clarkson, on the other hand, is thought to be set to sign a lucrative deal with American network Netflix.
