Simon Webbe turned phone off for four days after Strictly tour

Simon Webbe turned his phone off for four days after finishing the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ tour.

The 36-year-old star took part in the three-week long tour after competing on the BBC One celebrity dance contest last year and admits he was so exhausted when it all came to an end that he had to take a holiday.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I took ten days off and had my first holiday since last year.

"I took ten days off, stayed in, didn’t go anywhere, just rested my mind and turned my phone off. It was nice. Have you ever tried not switching your phone on for four days? It was the best thing because my mind was at rest because I wasn’t thinking, ‘Who’s calling me?’

"It was just, ‘I don’t care, I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, I’m knackered’. It was great."

However, despite being crowned the people’s champion of the ‘Strictly’ tour, Simon insists he has no plans to choreograph the dance moves for his band Blue’s upcoming tour, following the release of their latest album ‘Colours’.

He laughed: "No, I’m not that good! I’m very good at following what I’ve been taught but that came over time, I wasn’t that good at the beginning. But no, that’s totally different.

"It’s an experience I wouldn’t change for the world, it’s helped me out a lot confidence wise and I just feel like we’re entering a brand new chapter as Blue now and I can’t wait to get out there and let the fans hear the new album because we feel it’s our best yet."

Blue’s new album ‘Colours’ is out on March 9.
