The Strokes announce Hyde Park show


The Strokes will perform at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park.

The indie band will headline the opening night (18.06.15) of the series of London shows, which will be their first London show in five years, and their only UK festival appearance of the year.

The group – featuring Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond, Jr., Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti – have been widely praised since their debut album ‘Is This It’ in 2001, most recently releasing their fifth studio record, 2013’s ‘Comedown Machine’.

While The Strokes will headline the Great Oak Stage, support acts include Grammy Award-winner Beck and synthpop band Future Islands, as well as Temples, Public Service Broadcasting, The Wytches, Hinds, Gengahr, Yak and Kieran Leonard.

The five-piece group are the fifth act to be announced for the annual series of shows, with Blur performing on June 20 and Kylie Minogue joined by Grace Jones and Chic feat Nile Rodgers on June 21. The Who, with Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Marr will perform on June 26, while Taylor Swift will be joined by Ellie Goulding and John Newman on June 27.

Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park will run from June 18 to June 28, with tickets to The Strokes’ show going on sale on Friday (06.03.15).
