Ne-Yo wants to star in a comic book movie.
The 32-year-old singer has been approached to feature in a number of biopics but has turned down the roles because they would be too consuming.
He said: "I want to be in some of the Marvel movies. I’m a huge comic-book fan.
"I’m getting a lot of biopic offers, but you’ve got to dedicate yourself to that. James Brown was one they asked me about playing. I actually wanted to do that, but knew I wasn’t going to have the time.
"You have to become somebody else. I can’t be James Brown on Monday and then be Ne-Yo on Tuesday again."
Even if he does land his dream role, it is unlikely Ne-Yo would turn his back on music for good.
He told heat magazine: "I dig acting but I’m not good enough at it yet.
"I did a movie that took four months to shoot, and every other day it was like, right, gotta be on set at 6am and you don’t do anything until 2pm.
"You’re sitting around with thumb fiddle and I don’t like idle time like that. In that time, I could have done 17 songs."
