Adam Thomas angers road safety campaigners

Adam Thomas has angered road safety campaigners after he posted a video of him singing whilst driving.

The ‘Emmerdale’ star uploaded a clip on Instagram earlier this week, where he can be seen filming himself singing along to a Marvin Gaye track whilst behind the wheel.

Alongside the post, he wrote: "Stuck in traffic? whack a bit of Marvin on… Let’s go. (sic)"

The 27-year-old actor – who plays Adam Barton in the ITV soap – has since removed the video, with a spokesperson for the show insisting he has realised "the error of his ways".

But his apology has had no effect on safety campaigners who criticised the star for "selfie selfishness".

Gary Rae for safety charity Brake told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "This appears to be selfie selfishness.

"We’d welcome those in the public eye setting a good example and save the singing for the stage."

Meanwhile, Adam – who is the brother of ‘Coronation Street’ star Ryan Thomas – welcomed a baby with long-term girlfriend Caroline Daly in September last year.

Revealing the news at the time, he wrote on Twitter: "2day I fell more in lovewith @Carolinejanexx than I ever will do! Teddy James Thomas born 8/9/2014 new lucky roulette numbers right there 😉 (sic)"
