Sinitta eyes X Factor judging role

Sinitta "thinks" she’ll get a seat on the ‘X Factor’ judging panel soon.
The ‘So Macho’ hitmaker – who has previously helped her ex Simon Cowell whittle down the contestants on the ITV talent show – is convinced she’ll bag herself a chair next to Simon if the judging panel gets swapped around.
She said: "Me becoming a judge, I think that’s what’s going to happen next. It’s my time. I’ve heard that there’s a vacancy. As usual I’ve been available for the last 11 years."
Simon and the ‘X Factor’ team are remaining "optimistic" about the long term future of the show, despite its dwindling ratings as last year’s winners Rak-Su – which includes Ashley Fongo, Jamaal Shurland, Mustafa Rahimtulla and Myles Stephenson – have had great success already.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He’s optimistic because even though ratings were down the talent was incredible. The band that won have had success, which shows it still works."
Meanwhile, ‘X Factor’ judge Louis Walsh was previously forced to insist his contract is "watertight", following claims he could be axed from the judging panel.
He said: "My contract is watertight. I’ve checked it out with someone and have told Simon that. He has asked me to come and see him in LA. I have spoken to Sharon. She’s said they can only sack us if they pay us … Sharon did say she was surprised she hadn’t been given any filming dates. I don’t think they’ve finalised what they’re going to do with the panel. We have three-year contracts. We both do."
Louis’ comments came after claims Nicole Scherzinger has been axed from the judging panel, and that Simon has "lost faith" in Louis and Sharon.
An insider said: "Louis and Sharon are both contracted to return this year, but Simon and the producers have lost faith. They were both terrible on the panel last year. Louis has had a great run, but he’s advertising hearing aids for God’s sake. It’s beyond a joke. And Sharon couldn’t even remember some of her own contestants’ names. Nicole was a passionate judge but has no contract and won’t be back this year in order to bring in fresh blood."
