Prince Charles’ huge art success

Britain's Prince Charles is one of the UK's most successful living artists.
The heir apparent - also known as the Prince of Wales - has sold £2 million worth of lithographs through his shop at his home in Highgrove House.
Lithographs - which is the process of painting on limestone and printing the image onto paper - is the Prince's favoured technique and has allowed him to make many copies of his paintings.
New figures from the Royal household of an analysis of sales of limited edition lithographs - conducted by Clarence House and passed to The Telegraph - show what the Prince has earned since 1997 from sales of copies of his watercolour paintings through the shop at his family residence.
However it is believed the total earnings, including previous years sales could be as high as £8 million.
The money raised has gone to The Prince of Wales's Charitable Foundation, which awards funding to various good causes.
Prices for the lithographs range from £2,500 in the Highgrove shop to £15,000 in the Belgravia Gallery, which previously handled all sales.
The figures show that the Prince is in the top band of artists currently earning a living, as he has earned an estimated £200,000 annually from art sales over the past 25 years.

Britain’s Prince Harry helps wheelchair bound woman

Britain's Prince Harry rescued a wheelchair-bound woman who fell from her chair at the Invictus Games trials over the weekend.
The 31-year-old royal attended the event to watch the UK team hopefuls at the University of Bath's Sports Training Village, which took place between Friday and Sunday, and was chatting to RAF medic Anna Pollock at the side of the running track when she was toppled over by the strong windy weather.
But Harry leapt to her rescue and Anna, from Middlesborough - who was left partially paraplegic after an unexpected spinal chord bleed - told reporters: "I saw him and thought I've got to take the opportunity to ask for a picture.
I was just putting my gloves back on and sat back in my chair when the wind took me over. Harry said to me 'What did you do that for?!'
"I said, 'To show you how not to do that!' He was so lovely to help me and he gives so much. He makes all the lads and the lasses feel important."
Anna was taking part in the 200m, 400m and 1500m cycling event watched by the flame-haired prince - who founded the Paralympic-style sporting event for wounded soldiers in 2014 - and he later also watched wheelchair tennis.
The 2016 Invictus Games will take place May 8 -12 in Orlando, USA.

Britain’s Duke of York visits Camden Market

Britain's Duke of York visited Camden Market on Wednesday (27.01.16).
Prince Andrew, the son of Queen Elizabeth, stopped by the Half Hitch Gin micro-distillery in north London to show his support for entrepreneurs.
He also visited ice cream shop Chin Chin Labs, which uses liquid nitrogen to make the tasty treats and was shown around a new co-working space at the nearby Gilgamesh restaurant.
Meanwhile, the Prince is a long-time supporter of business start-ups, having recently unveiled his Pitch@Palace scheme.
He said: "It's dead simple. I felt that venture capital was not investing in early stage activity. It comes out of mitigating risk rather than looking at the individual and the idea, and accepting that the idea may change.
"I called in a few people from the venture capital world - yes, quite a few from Cambridge - the idea was for a member of the Royal Family to be an accelerant. Pitch@Palace is an enabling device to bring small businesses and entrepreneurs in contact with these people. I take no cut.
"It's a subtle difference, but in the US they think work, sleep work, whereas our entrepreneurs go from work to the pub, go to bed at 3am and get up again at 7, and this eat, sleep, play routine means they are all playing off each other."

Meanwhile, Prince Harry previously spoke of his pleasure that the "United States had taken up the challenge" of hosting this year's Invictus Games.
He said: "Last year we held the first ever Invictus Games here in London. It was an event which focused the recovery of hundreds of wounded service men and women through support, but more significantly it inspired many hundreds more. The amazing British public embraced these games and its competitors as only they can, thanking them and the armed forces for their dedication and sacrifice.
"For every competitor last September, there are hundreds of others around the world who would benefit from having the same opportunity. I am absolutely delighted to announce that the United States has taken up that challenge and will host the next Invictus Games in Orlando, Florida, from the 8th to the 12th of May 2016."

"It's always useful to update your address book, in preparation for sending out Christmas cards. You could always get your computer-savvy child to help you type out all the addresses to avoid having to use your scribbled out address book."

"You know songs like 'my old man said follow the van' is not just a sweet old ditty it's all about a woman who's been dispossessed and thrown out of her house, and there's a great deal in the music hall that deals with that sort of subject."
