Princess Anne opens Scottish butchery unit

Princess Anne opened a new butchery production unit in Wemyss Bay, Scotland.
The 67-year-old royal joined the owners of McCaskie Butchers, Nigel and Helen Ovens, as they launched the brand new Inverclyde factory, which has been redeveloped for £800,000, on Wednesday (21.02.18).
Nigel said: "The whole McCaskie’s team were absolutely thrilled to welcome Her Royal Highness here today and delighted at the level of interest she took in hearing about our plans for the future of our business and the time she spent speaking with staff and others who work with the company.
"The expansion project to create the new premises has been a huge amount of work and our thanks go to all those who have helped us in the past 18 months to bring our plans to reality."
The Princess Royal was in the area in 2016, when she opened Scotland’s Boat Show at Kip Marina. In Inverkip for the annual event’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, Anne unveiled a plaque and was given a tour of the 120 boats on display.
The exhibition’s organiser Holt Leisure and Kip Marina MD, Gavin McDonagh said at the time: "We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal. This is an excellent reward for the staff as they put such an effort into making the boat show such a success.
"It is great recognition for the show and the fact that we have grown it from a small, second-hand boat show to the largest of its kind in Scotland, attracting visitors from all over the UK."
