Mark Jordon hopeful of Emmerdale return

Mark Jordon is hopeful he will get the chance to return to ‘Emmerdale’ after he was cleared of attacking a pensioner.
The 54-year-old star was found not guilty of affray, unlawful wounding and assault by beating last week, following a row in a pub beer garden, and he would love to reprise his role as Daz Spencer if he was offered the chance to return to the ITV soap.
He said: "It [his character’s possible return] was left open thank goodness. That building used to be part of where I filmed ‘Heartbeat’ and where I filmed shows before that when I was just a youth.
"To be back in ‘Emmerdale’ and see people who trained were now running the camera team and running the make-up team, I love that building so much.
"So yes, the opportunity, possibly to go back, is something I am holding dear to."
Mark revealed his fiancée, ‘Emmerdale’ actress Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt), would hear him "shouting out" in his sleep ahead of the trial.
He said: "There were a lot of times Laura told me I was shouting out in my sleep and I had hives. It sounds like a little violin moment, but I’m trying to say the stress accumulates and it comes out in ways you don’t know."
But the former ‘Heartbeat’ actor admits he felt "calm" during the four to five-hour wait for the jury’s verdict, following the seven-day trial, because he had his friends, family and co-stars helping to distract him and keep him busy.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, he added: "What’s weird is over the seven days I became very calm. My work colleagues arrived every day, my friends and family, Laura’s parents, they arrived every day, so that waiting period was spent with colleagues who distracted me, kept me busy, kept talking to me.
"As weird as it is, there was a calm. I know Laura got upset and my friends were quite nervous, but I felt quite censored if that makes sense."
Following the verdict, several of Mark’s co-stars admitted they were happy for him.
Danny Miller – who plays Aaron Sugden-Dingle – tweeted: "Couldn’t be more thrilled for such a lovely man.
Justice, finally. So happy for him and his family, who can now begin to rebuild their lives following such a horrendous ordeal! (sic)"
Lucy Pargeter – who portrays Chas Dingle – tweeted: "justice"
Samantha Giles (Bernice Blackstock) wrote: "Justice at last!!!!! (sic)"
