Jennifer Metcalfe teases tears and tantrums for Hollyoaks double wedding

Jennifer Metcalfe says there will be "tears and tantrums" but only one happy ending in Hollyoaks’ double McQueen wedding.
The village is set for more chaos next week with Jennifer’s alter-ego Mercedes McQueen set to wed Sylver McQueen (David Tag), and her mother Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) is to marry Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), and the 36-year-old star says there will be plenty of double nuptial "drama".
She said: "Myra’s version and Mercedes’ version is like chalk and cheese.
"There’s tears, there’s tantrums, there’s drama, and there’s a happy ending for one of the couple’s … and a not so happy one for the other.
"I just think it’s really beautifully shot, our director Sean Glynn did an amazing job and it looks perfect."
Jennifer admits it can be a long day on set shooting soap weddings, but she always gets "giddy" when her character is set to walk down the aisle.
She said: "Wedding scenes are always long to film but I actually get a bit giddy when there are loads of people on set.
"You end up working with people that you don’t usually work with which is really nice, and when it’s all cut together you know that it’s going to be good."
While it’s not yet known which couple will have the happy ending and which won’t, Myra’s day will not get off to a good start when she spots Stevie Scaramouch, who she shared a kiss with just last week.
During a conversation with her family, she plans to continue with her big day without telling Sally but doesn’t realise the teacher is in the next toilet cubicle hearing all about what she has been up to.
