Davood Ghadami’s property dream

Davood Ghadami is hoping to become a property magnate.
The ‘EastEnders’ star’s company has applied to Harlow Council to build 30 new homes on a site in the Essex city – where he was born – but the local authority has recommended they put the proposals on hold due to the land’s "archaeological significance".
A source close to the 35-year-old actor – who plays market trader Kush Kazemi in the BBC One soap – said: "This latest response has definitely put a spanner in the works.
"They were hoping to start work as soon as possible but obviously this is a setback."
As a result of the hitch, archaeological research looks set to be carried out, and Davood is said to be hopeful this will not delay the plans – which were proposed by his mum and co-director Jayne – for too long, nor incur huge costs.
The source added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: "It could add a few extra months on the project and they’re hoping it won’t cost them too much."
While Davood has been putting plans in place for his future off-screen, his character Kush has been devastated in recent weeks following the death of his brother Shakil Kazemi (Shaheen Jafargholi), who was stabbed to death.
While Kush has largely been hiding his grief by concentrating on looking after his mother Carmel Kazemi (Bonnie Langford), his feelings about his sibling’s death will finally come out next week.
He told BANG Showbiz: "His role has been to support his role and it has helped him find his leafleting equivalent – a focus away from the tragedy.
"There’s no way that someone can go through this and not let it touch upon everything that they do. Whether you think about it every hour or every minute.
"Kush has been through a lot of tragedy in his life anyway and it gets closer and closer to home every time. He can’t just lock this away forever.
"He has been supporting his mum but at some point that will flip – and that is going to happen with Kush. There will be breaking points."
